NCN Celebrates Earth Day

April 26, 2022 |

Our teams spread the word about recycling right and helped clean up our communities during Earth Day celebrations across Northern California. The NCN area helped support events, volunteered at community clean-ups and offered in-person education to community members. Here’s a sampling of our efforts.

Oakland

Our team in The Town was very busy over the Earth Day weekend. NCN representatives attended several events and got their hands dirty helping to clean creeks, plant trees, paint murals and providing recycling and compost education to residents during several events.

Monterey County

The team from our Carmel Marina Corporation hauling district held an annual cleanup event in King City which allowed residents to drop off large bulky items for disposal. More than 120 cars drove through the event dropping off everything from furniture to electronic waste. Team members also volunteered in the annual King City litter picking event that resulted in the collection of 24 trash bags full of litter.

Stockton

WM hosted an educational table at Stockton’s Earth Day Celebration at Victory Park and supplied the city with free disposal of trash, recyclables and organics generated during the event.  Residents couldn’t get enough of our recycling game during the celebration event as a steady stream of revelers kept our team busy with recycling questions.

Hayward

Employees volunteered at a cleanup event and community fair in the city.
