In an effort to assist residents with household clean ups and to curb illegal dumping, the Lockwood Landfill works with Reno, Sparks, Washoe County and Storey County to provide free dump weekends at the landfill to local residents.
Acceptable Household Appliances
Lockwood Landfill accepts the following appliances at our free dump day events:
- Refrigerators
- Hot water heaters
- Stoves
- Dishwashers
- Washers
- Dryers
Acceptable Bulky Waste
Lockwood Landfill accepts the following bulky waste items at our free dump day events:
- Sofas
- Chairs
- Mattresses
- Box Springs
Lunch at the Landfill
Every year the Lockwood Landfill staff hosts a BBQ lunch for the residents of Lockwood, Nevada. The guests enjoy local food, take tours of the facility and interact with the employees. It is an event the community and employees look forward to each year.
