About Davis Street Transfer Station

Welcome to the Davis Street Resource Recovery Complex and Transfer Station

Our state-of-the-art facility is designed to recover materials for reuse, recycling or composting. Since 1980, Davis Street has been a leader in resource recovery and sustainability services in the Bay Area. We are proud to serve Alameda County and its communities.

Davis Street is also helping to close the loop on organic materials at its WM EarthCare Landscape Center. It offers compost approved for organic farming, soil blends and mulch in a variety of natural dye colors. All the products are made from locally sourced, 100% recycled materials.

Trash delivered to Davis Street is transferred to the Altamont Landfill in Livermore. Nearly 25 tons of trash, the equivalent of four residential collection trucks, is loaded into a single transfer truck to haul to the landfill. By using transfer trucks, we reduce traffic, wear and tear on roadways, and greenhouse gas emissions.

What’s more, our WM transfer trucks are powered by clean-burning landfill gas generated by the trash at the Altamont. We are closing the loop on waste to create a greener, cleaner Alameda County.

Davis Street and Waste Management of Alameda County, Inc. are dedicated to protecting the environment and working with our communities to reach their diversion goals. We consider ourselves partners with our host communities and the customers we serve.

Highlights of our involvement include:

  • Community Event Presentations
  • In-kind Donation of Services to Qualifying Organizations
  • Open and Transparent Communications
