Appliances with freon are appliances that use refrigerants containing chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) or hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs).

Examples of appliances that may contain freon include:

  • window and whole house air conditioners
  • refrigerators
  • freezers
  • electronically chilled water coolers
  • dehumidifiers
  • some types of heat pumps
