Composting at Guadalupe

The WM EarthCare Landscape Center at the Guadalupe Landfill features compost and an assortment of mulch colors. Our products are made from Bay Area-sourced and produced, 100% recycled materials. We are closing the loop on materials once destined for landfills and helping businesses and homeowners keep organic materials local and thereby reducing the carbon footprint associated with virgin landscape materials.

WM EarthCare™ produces compost approved for organic farming, mulch from locally-sourced, clean construction wood, soil blends and aggregate made from 100% recycled concrete.

Compost is made in Monterey County from yard trimmings and residential food scraps collected locally. It is Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) listed for organic farming and bears the US Composting Council Seal of Testing Assurance (USCC-STA) and the California Department of Food & Agriculture label.

WM EarthCare™ Mulch is made from the clean, untreated lumber recovered at our CDDD facility and sister facility in San Leandro. The wood is coarsely ground to 2 inches, screened and dyed with naturally occurring water-based colorants at our facility in Fremont. The colorant from Amerimulch is safe for use around children and pets and is guaranteed to retain its color for one year.
