What is Household Hazardous Waste?

Many common household products that we use in our daily lives contain potentially hazardous materials that require special care when disposed. Properly discarding these items is important, as many locations deem it illegal to disposal of hazardous waste in the garbage, down storm drains, or onto the ground. Common HHW items include paints, solvents, cleaning products, batteries, and motor oil.
